BioI am an accounting student at Appalachian State University in the mountains of northwest North Carolina. Photography keeps me from seeing numbers in my sleep.
I first dabbled in the winter and spring of 2007, when I bought my point-and-shoot and wanted to justify the purchase in my head. After a few months, however, it went on the shelf as life got busier. I've recently gotten back into it, thanks in large part to the fact that I ended up in a photography class as an elective in the spring semester. I'm no expert, and I'm still re-learning what I've forgotten and figuring out all the nuances of what goes into more serious work... but I'm getting there. Feel free to have a look around; one of these days I might even set up a proper gallery website besides Photobucket.
Equipment
I own two cameras: a Kodak C875 point-and-shoot, which I used to make my early pictures, and a Canon Rebel XSi/450D with the kit lens. I'm looking to add a wide-angle lens and probably a faster replacement standard zoom in the not-too-distant future. One or two primes might also find their way into my bag.
Photographic Interests
Being surrounded by mountains and living just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, many of my photos are landscapes and nature shots at this point in time. However, I have been known to shoot things in motion, and would like to also get into cityscapes, wildlife, and sports photography at some point. The last two would require a telephoto lens, but that's a little further down the road. However, this list is not all-inclusive in the least; I'm willing to try almost anything and hoping to try a lot.
